Port of Trelleborg

Ferries and Ferry Companies Operating
(Trelleborg, Skane, Sweden)

There are two companies operating passenger ferry services out of Trelleborg port, TT Lines and Scandilines.

These two companies cover the routes to Travemünde, Rostock, and Sassnitz.

Scandilines is the largest Baltic ferry operator, with a total of 12 passenger routes. It maintains crossings between the Baltic States, Denmark, Sweden and Germany, with an annual throughput of 20 million passengers.

Scandilines Ferry's depart from Trelleborg many times a day for the ports of Rostock and Sassnitz. The route to Rostock takes 5 hours, 30 minutes to complete and is also operated by TT Lines. The service to Sassnitz offers more frequent crossings, with up to five daily during peak season, and takes approximately 3 hours, 45 minutes.

All Scandilines ferries are equipped with modern facilities. Passengers can sit comfortably in airline-style seating. There are plenty of opportunities to shop as well as to dine in a wide range of eateries.

Passengers with disabilities will find adapted toilets and wheelchair-friendly facilities. It is recommended that anyone with special needs contact Scandilines ahead of time to make any necessary arrangements.

TT Lines

TT Lines is a privately owned ferry operator that connects Germany and Sweden through direct connections. The company operates as many as 20 daily crossings between the two countries and sees in excess of one million passengers every year.

The route from Trelleborg to Rostock departs three times every day. The journey takes 5 hours, 20 minutes. The route to Travemünde departs four times a day and takes 7 hours to complete the journey.

The route to Rostock is managed by the ships Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. These two ships have been in operation since 2001 and can each accommodate 400 passengers. Ships' facilities include a Reception area, a hall with 30 seats and on-board shopping. There is a gambling room on Deck 5, as well as a sauna on Deck 1. Both of these ships also provide a children's program that offers excellent facilities to entertain the younger passengers.

The route to Travemünde is handled by the ships Robin Hood, Nils Holgersson, Nils Dacke and Peter Pan. All of these vessels are considered Green Ships that lessen the environmental impact of repeated ferry crossings. The Robin Hood and Nils Dacke have been running since 1995. These ships can accommodate 300 people and are equipped with on-board shopping and a boutique, as well as a gambling room, jacuzzi, and two saunas. The newest ships in the fleet, Nils Holgersson and Peter Pan, employ an ecologically sound propulsion system for which TT Lines has received multiple awards and recognition. These ships can transport 744 passengers each and have all the amenities and facilities of the other ships. On-board dining options include a buffet.
